A symbol of true love forever to stay Send her fake flowers that never decay Shiny white satin, a veil for the bride Polyester paradise for heaven's eyes Planet of plastic A cheap imitation of all that we want but can't afford Change we were saving but spent in attempt to have more Petroleum products from dinosaur bones Tiny toy dinos in children's homes A reincarnation of those once alive Break the chain, you are death immortalized Planet of plastic A cheap imitation of all that we want but can't afford Change we were saving but spent in attempt to have more Send her fake flowers to prove your love is true Unlike a flower, will never renew Imitation carnation in its final incarnation Just like love, it is born but never dies.

The heart goes to the head with a mop and a pail of water to clean up what was left behind in the corners of an empty mind. What do you see when your head's in the sand? How do you feel if you don't understand? "I want a world where things make sense," the head says to the heart, "but people seem to take offense when I'm trying to be smart." The head goes to the heart with an ax and a suit of armor, in hopes that it will gain control by destruction of a lonely soul. Intellect wins by defining the game, but changing the rules is to lose, all the same. "Who cares if we are right or wrong?" the heart says to the mind, "What matters is we get along, so don't be smart, be kind." The head beats the heart every time they play a game of checkers. The heart complains it isn't fair, so both resort to solitaire.

There were things that I wanted you to know Feelings that I agonized to show I've worn a mask for so long now It's hard to find a way to tell you... I say it in a song because cliche set to music is acceptably okay And so before you here I sing 'Though it may not mean a thing... I just had to say that I love you. And should you confess That you only mean to play Then I, saving face, will simply laugh and say... Well, it was just a love song, anyway...

Unravel 04:04
Sheep of a sweater They flock together Nowhere to turn to Black sheep, black sheep You are so different No one will listen How will you reach them Black sheep, black sheep? You couldn't love them So you rose above them They look to you now Black sheep, black sheep Insire, enlighten, Take care not to frighten They are a flock of Simple human Baa baa, fleece as white as snow Unravel Unravel Darn this sweater.

Stillness 02:15
Finding in your heart a restful state Is trying to still a marble on a plate: With steady hands and focus, try you might, And yet the marble rolls from left to right. Every small adjustment, each correction, Sends it rolling in the opposite direction. When you at last concede that you're unable And, defeated, set the plate down on the table, You discover what it means to meditate: The plate and marble's stillness are innate.

New lover Are you just a temporary muse Not forever Just another temporary useful inspiration? Is that all you will be for me? New lover Will you stay a while or a lifetime? Stay forever If not then let this while be a trifle invitation And I'll do all I can do for you. Wandering into my dreams like a catalyst I wonder if I were to leave, would I missed Or will you find a new love to replace all of this? New lover Are you just a temporary muse Not forever Just another temporary useful inspiration? Is that all you will be for me? New lover Stay with me a while or a lifetime Stay forever If not then let this while be a trifle invitation And I'll do all I can do for you.

Paper Wind 02:16
You set out to seek the truth And thus become more wise A fool you were to play the sleuth For all there was were lies When you give up you cosmic search And decide that you belong to Earth Leave behind the unknown Don't be afraid to come home Unfaltering, you followed the shining light of your guiding star But you found it doesn't guide you Only tells you where you are You set out to foreign lands To see what's to be seen And now at last you understand That all there was has been When you give up your hero's quest And settle for just happiness Leave behind the unknown That's when you should come home Around the world you wandered Till you wound up back at the start Only finding all you wanted Was always in your heart

Love is Gray 03:12
I was confused and amazed and surprised When you somehow opened my eyes to brilliant hues, Redder reds, bluer blues Where once was black and white How, because of you, I must undo All that I knew, For you redefined All that my mind Thought to be true. Then came the day you decided to go. And my heart faintly whispered, Please, no... not yet - It's too soon to be done - We had hardly begun - But what can be done? ... Now, what can I say? Words are cliche, They get in the way. I cannot express My heart in distress. All colors are gray. But perhaps, I dramatize the despair that I feel, For in truth, nobody ever could steal These memories from me - I will forever see The rainbow that you revealed. The colors are real, And not just a dream. And yet, deep inside me a warm little flame still burns That you'll someday return.

Astray Cat 02:50
Astray cat Cat who's led astray Why do you stray from place to place? Astray cat Waver from the way Never more shall we meet face to face Running ever, seeking pleasure When and where you will Satisfaction in your action What you want you kill Astray cat Drifting day to day Carve out a path just to erase Astray cat Cat who's led astray In my life then gone without a trace

A hundred dandelion seeds Unleashed into the wild A hundred dandelion seeds The prayer of a child A hundred dandelion seeds Flew before they fell Where a hundred dandelion seeds Will go no one can tell A story sleeping, waiting to begin Fate is at the mercy of the wind Hopes relinquished, given unto chance Swept away in sweet entropic dance With no wings to flap or flutter Navigating with no rudder A hundred dandelion seeds Unleashed into the wild A hundred dandelion seeds The prayer of a child A hundred dandelion seeds Flew before they fell A single dandelion seed Found a wishing well With no rainfall from the sky The wishing well was dry But at the bottom patiently Lies the dandelion seed
